The Natural Science Museum of Barcelona created, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Innovation as well as the European Comission, a wonderful temporary exposition about the bees that helps teaching and sensibilizing people about the bees’ role in the conservation of lots of plants in our planet. The exposition, which has been prorogated until the end of October 2022 (which means you still have time to go visit it), can be accessed through the Botanical Garden of Montjuic with the same entry ticket for this last one.
The exhibit, besides showing us how pollinators work at a biological level, focuses on explaining the dependance relationship we humans have when it’s about pollinating lots of plants that are needed to feed us, while talking about biodiversity and ecological equilibrium. It also emphasizes those practices that we can undertake both on a personal and a social level, to help flip the crisis of biodiversity loss that we are suffering increasingly more because of the pollution and the climate change.
All of this, is achieved through the creation of different spaces inside the same exposition where different pills of knowledge are showed through pictures, videos, statues! and diapositives with graphics and very valuable information broken down in a very simple and intuitive way.
The exposition can be found in Catalan, Spanish and English. We went there recently and we though it was very enriching. Being able to enjoy this type of expositions on a citizen basis is a joy and a pleasure.
